Chapter 1
There
is mayhem in the gymnasium as emergency crews are called to the
scene. As Jon and Tyler manage to come out of this unscathed, Tyler
is sick with worry that he can't seem to find Khrystyna. And
Marshall, comes to with a few minor injuries, but it's Tanya who is
trapped beneath a large sheet of board. Marshall screams out for help
and a rescue worker responds to Marshall's screams, as the two manage
to pull the heavy board off of Tanya. She is still unconscious and
rushed by ambulance to the hospital for treatment.
It
is Tyler is in total shock when he finally finds Khrystyna trapped in
another room with noxious gases inside. It seems Khrystyna couldn't
bear the thought of watching Tanya and Marshall and their dance, that
she slipped away unnoticed, into the empty classroom nearby. Trying
to be the hero, Tyler busts the door into and grabs Khrystyna just as
she is about to lose consciousness from the fumes. He manages to
bring her outside where rescue workers notice Tyler bringing
Khrystyna outside and they take Khrystyna to an ambulance for
treatment.
But
far off, unseen, but watching all this happening, is emcee of the
Prom, Jerry Chandler, the nerd who has been bullied all year long, is
congratulating himself for a job well done at getting back at all the
students for poking fun of him and bullying him all year long.
Chapter 2
With
class back in session on Monday after the explosion in the gymnasium
on Friday night at the Prom, the students are all saddened as they
walk by the roped-off gymnasium. There is talk that maybe it was a
terrorist act or hate-crime or something. Students, teachers, and
staff just can't believe what happened and everyone is wondering who
would do such a thing.
Jerry Chandler is sitting at a table in
the school library, working on his next plan to get people to notice
him and how they all treated him.
Meanwhile, Jon and Tyler,
are discussing the night of the Prom and how their plan to ruin Tanya
was foiled by whoever set that explosion off.
"So, Jon,
who do you think caused the explosion Friday night at the Prom?"
Tyler asked.
"I don't know Tyler, but I'm mad as hell
that it ruined our plans to ruin Tanya's night!"
"Yeah!
I know what you mean!" Tyler laments, suddenly realizing he was
going to tell Khrystyna how he feels about her, and how it was
gone.
"So, has anyone heard about Tanya and Khrystyna and
the others who were hurt?"
"I think most everyone is
back in class, with a few still in the hospital." Tyler informs
Jon.
"That's good! Glad to know no one was really hurt. I
was just about to push the play button to start the video, when the
explosion hit."
"I wonder who did it too, and
why?"
As Jon and Tyler are discussing what happened the
night of the Prom, Jerry Chandler walks by and manages to overhear
their conversation. He thinks to himself, "You'll never know
what happened the night of the Prom; at least not until I let you and
everyone else in on my plan to bring all you goody-two-shoes down for
ruining my senior year Hill Country High.
Chapter 3
As
friends and classmates welcome Khrystyna and Tanya and the others
who were injured in the explosion the night of the prom, Jerry looks
on, with revenge on his mind. He can't believe how nobody pays
attention to him except to bully and make fun of him. Well, he is
tired of everyone making fun of him, and he intends to make them
sorry for all the cruel jokes they have all played on him.
Marshall
pulls Tanya to the the side of the hallway where no one can see them
as he gives Tanya a heartfelt kiss.
"Gee,
I'm so glad you're alright!" Marshall tells Tanya.
"I'm
so glad you found me when you did. I really thought I was going to
die."
"I
wasn't going to give up until I found you. I don't know what I'd do
if I lost you."
"You
really like me?"
"I
think I'm starting to fall in love with you, Tanya."
"But
what about Khrystyna?"
"She's
in the past. Besides, she's got Tyler. She just doesn't know it
yet."
Tanya
wraps her arms around Marshall and plants a big kiss on his lips.
She doesn't want this moment to end, ever. But, alas, Khrystyna is
saddened when she spies Marshall in a warm embrace with Tanya.
Thinking
to herself, "That should be me, Marshall is kissing. Dammit,
Tanya, why do you always ruin everything for me?"
Just
then, Tyler comes from behind Khrystyna, startling her.
"Dammit,
Tyler, what do you want!?"
"Just
wondering what you are doing?"
"Nothing!"
"Hey,
Khrys, will you have dinner with me tonight?"
"Uh,
gee, Tyler, I'm kinda busy tonight."
"O.
K. Never mind then." Tyler says, looking sullen.
Khrystyna
walks off to her class by herself as Tyler tells himself that he
will find a way to get Khrystyna to fall for him.
Chapter 4
Jerry
is working on his project for the next dance, the-end-of-year dance,
when Khrystyna sees him sitting all alone during lunch
hour.
"Hello,
Jerry. How are you doing?" Khrystyna says, sitting down next to
him.
"Ah,
hello, Khrystyna." Jerry replies, caught off-guard.
"What
you working on?"
"Just
a special project."
"Can
I see it?"
Jerry
quickly closes his notebook, not noticing an important sheet of
paper that has fallen on the floor by Khrystyna's foot.
"No,
thanks, Khrystyna. Besides, I just noticed I'm late for an
appointment with the counselor."
Jerry
quickly rushes off leaving Khrystyna alone. She notices the piece of
paper that fell from Jerry's notebook, picks it up and is shocked as
to what she sees on it. She can't believe what Jerry has planned for
the end-of-the-year-dance. She notices Tyler sitting down at a table
alone with his lunch tray. She goes over to him to let him know what
she found out.
"Hi,
Tyler."
"What
do you want, Khrys?!"
"I
need to talk to you. It's important."
"Yeah,
it always is! Go away, Khrys! I'm tired of you always pushing me
away!"
Tyler
starts to leave as Khrystyna blurts out her next message.
"But,
Tyler! I know who was behind the explosion the night of the
prom."
Curious,
Tyler turns back around.
"Yeah,
who do you think it was?"
"Jerry
Chandler."
"Why,
pray tell, do you think it's him?"
"Because
of all the bullying he's suffered by us all. Look at this!" She
shows him the piece of paper that fell from Jerry's notebook.
Tyler
looks at it, stunned. "I don't believe this. You say this came
from Jerry's notebook?'
"Yes.
What do we do?"
"Can
I borrow this, Khrys?"
"Sure,
but what are you going to do with it?"
"I've
got to show this to someone."
"Okay."
"Thanks,
Khrys. You may have just saved the dance. Gotta go."
Khrystyna
watches as Tyler rushes out of the school lunchroom, curious as to
what he is up to.
As
soon as Tyler is out of earshot, he calls Jon and tells him what
Khrystyna found, and they arrange for a meeting to discuss what to
do.
Chapter 5
After
leaving Khrystyna, Tyler immediately goes to Jon's home to show him
the note that Khrystyna found. Tyler arrives at Jon's and knocks on
his door.
Jon comes to the door and seeing that it is Tyler,
opens it. "Oh hi Tyler."
"Jon, we have a
slight problem with the plans."
"What could that
be, Tyler?" Jon asks, a little perturbed.
"I think
I know who it was that caused the explosion the night of the
prom."
Tyler shows the note that Khrystyna showed him
from Jerry.
"So, that little punk is the reason for all
this. Well, Jerry Chandler is not going to get away with
this!"
"What's wrong, Jon?"
"Jerry
is the reason why we couldn't bring Tanya down. We need to have a
talk with Jerry."
Jon brings out his cell from his
pocket and dials Jerry's number. Jerry picks up on the second
ring.
"Hello?" Jerry asks, answering his
cell.
"Jerry...this is Jon. We need to talk. Like
right now. When can you get over here?"
"Oh, hi
Jon. I can be right over in about about ten minutes."
"Good.
Make it quick."
Jon hangs up his cell. Turning to
Tyler, "Jerry will be here in a few and we'll get to the bottom
of this."
As they wait for Jerry to arrive at Jon's
home, the town is rocked by another explosion at the town deli.
Chapter 6
Jerry arrived at Jon’s home where Tyler and Khrystyna were waiting for him. They wanted an explanation about his plot to ruin the end-of-the-year dance.
“Yeah. Jerry.” Jon said. “We need you to answer some questions for us?”
“Sure, what about?”
“Khrystyna found your note that suggested you had a plot to ruin the end-of-the-year dance?” Jon accused.
“That piece of paper isn’t mine.” Jerry said dodging the accusations against him.
“But it fell from your backpack as you were leaving the courtyard yesterday.” Khrystyna mentioned.
“Oh, I can explain.” Jerry said as he thought of a reason to get out of the accusations they were accusing him of. “My friend, Tim, gave this to me as a joke.”
“So, you’re trying to tell me that this piece of paper is just a cruel joke by you and your friend?” Jon said angrily.
“Yeah, man!” Jerry defended himself. “Do you think I could actually do something like this?”
“Well, you do have a point.” Jon said as the others nodded in agreement.
“So, am I free to go?” Jerry asked.
“Yeah, sure. Go!” Jon said.
Jerry left as fast as he could go. He narrowly escaped their accusations. It was a good thing they were all so dense that they believed his story…the idiots! They actually think he would be that stupid as not to have the knowledge to plan a plot to ruin the end-of-the-year dance? Well, it served all of them right for believing his story. They would see by the end of year!
(Next: Police question Khrystyna, Tanya, Marshall, Jon and Tyler plus others in the bombing of the town deli.)
Chapter 7
Khrystyna arrived at school and went to the girls' room to check her appearance due to the rain that had fallen while coming in from her car. She saw a disheveled girl in the mirror as Khrystyna tried to fix the damage to her hair from the rain. It was then an unfamiliar face came into the restroom to do the same as Khrystyna.
Khrystyna just looked into the mirror and tried to ignore the girl, but the girl introduced herself to Khrystyna.
“I'm Jasmine.” the new girl greeted Khrystyna. “But you can call me Jazzie.”
“Hello, Jasmine, I mean, Jazzie. I'm Khrystyna.” Khrystyna greeted her back.
“Nice to meet you.”
“Likewise.”
“That was some downpour on the way to school this morning?”
“Yeah, too bad my hair is now hopeless because of it?” Khrystyna commented.
“Here, let me help you.” Jazzie said as she managed to fix Khrystyna's hair.
“Thank you.”
“No problem.”
“So, you new here?”
“Yeah, today is my first day.”
“Where's your first class?”
“Algebra 2.”
“No way. That's my first class. I can show where it is.”
“That would be great.”
Khrystyna and Jazzie finished with their appearance and went to their lockers (coincidentally right next
to each other) to get their books for class and they headed to algebra class. But halfway through the class, the office aide came in with a note for Khrystyna to head to the office.
When Khrystyna got there, there was an officer waiting to speak to her about the night of the Prom explosion, and Khrystyna was grilled by the officer about the events of that night, as well as Jon, Tyler, Tanya and Marshall.
While Khrystyna was being questioned by the officer, Jazzie waited at her locker for Khrystyna to question Khrystyna when she returned to her locker.
“It must have sucked to be called out of class?” Jazzie asked Khrystyna.
“You don't know the half of it?!” Khrystyna said.
“What happened?”
“It was an officer asking about events of the explosion that occurred on Prom night last week.”
“There was an explosion on Prom night?” Jazzie said stunned.
“Yeah, I was mildly injured in it.”
“Oh, I'm so sorry. Was anyone else?”
“My friends Tyler, Jon, Marshall and Tanya.” Khrystyna said.
Khrystyna continued on with the details of the Prom night explosion to Jazzie while Jerry watched them.
Then, as soon as Khrystyna was on her way to her next class, Jazzie met with Jerry to talk to him about what Khrystyna told him.
