Plot

Stefanie “Steffy” Raines is an independent career woman with her own dreams. But when she meets billionaire, Prince Jordan Ashley, her world is turned upside down when he woos her, despite them having nothing in common. Can two people as different as night and day come together or will the romance fizzle out?

 

Chapter 1

“I’m so sorry I’m late!” Steffy Raines tells her co-workers as she came into the conference room of Hart & Son Attorneys at Law for their meeting.

“Why, Steffy, it’s a pleasure to have you here!” Carol, Steffy’s boss said.

“My alarm didn’t wake me this morning.” Steffy threw out her excuse.

“It’s okay. Just have a seat, and let me get the meeting started.” Carol told her.

Steffy took a seat next to the client who was there to discuss his case.

“Now, staff I’d like you to meet our new client, Prince Jordan Ashley.” Carol said, introducing Jordan to the staff, who warmly smiled at Steffy.

Steffy was put off by Prince Jordan’s sincerity. Giving a quick smile, Steffy turned her attention back to Carol.

“Now, I’ll turn the floor over to Prince Jordan, who will fill you in on his case.” Carol said, as she motioned to Jordan that he had the floor.

As Steffy listened, she had the unnerving feeling that Prince Jordan was looking straight at her. it gave her shivers as she grew uncomfortable with the Prince’s gaze.

After the meeting, Steffy tried to exit the conference room, but Prince Jordan stopped her before she could leave.

“Miss Raines, could I have a word with you?” Prince Jordan asked Steffy.

Not wanting to risk offending the company’s client, Steffy reluctantly gave in and stayed in the conference room.

“Yes, Prince Jordan, what can I do for you?” Steffy asked.

“I’d like to request that you join me on my family’s yacht for a soiree tonight?” the Prince asked, making her believe that it was more a demand than a request.

“Gee, I’d love to but…” Steffy began, but the Prince shook his head as if to let her know that he always got what he wanted. “Sure. I’d love to.”

“Well, then, now that that’s out of the way….” Prince Jordan said. “You can go do what you were going to do. I’ll phone you the details later.”

“Should I give you my phone number?”

“Already in my iPhone10.” Prince Jordan said.

“Thank you.” Steffy cordially replied.

“Until then.” Prince Jordan smiled at her as he left the office building.

Steffy felt like she was being pushed into something she didn’t really want. And when Steffy was pushed into something, usually it wasn’t a good picture. Steffy wondered what Prince Jordan Ashley wanted with her?

 

Chapter 2

Steffy arrived home and immediately ran the water with some bubbles. It was Steffy's one vise after a long day's work—an invigorating bubble bath.

After relaxing for an hour in her steamy bubble bath, she missed a call from Prince Jordan. As she immediately retrieved the voicemail Prince Jordan left, he sounded a little upset when he got the voicemail, so Steffy immediately called him back.

“Steffy, so nice of you to call me back.” Prince Jordan said happily, but put off by Steffy's behavior.

“I'm sorry, Prince Ashley, I missed your call.” Steffy apologized. “I was taking a bath. Something I do once I get home from work.”

“It's okay.” Prince Jordan told her as he softened considerable after her explanation. “I just wanted to give you the date and time for my family's soiree aboard the family's yacht.”

“Okay. When do you want me there?”

“My limo will pick you up at 7 p.m. Sharp. Don't worry about what to wear. My stylist will provide you with the proper attire once you arrive.”

“Tonight? That soon?” Steffy said surprised it was so soon. “I'll be ready for the limo.”

“See you soon.”

“You too.” Steffy said as the call ended.

Steffy sat down in her recliner and picked up the book she was reading while waiting for the Prince Jordan's limo to pick her up.

 

Chapter 3

Steffy was ready when the Prince's limo showed up and a stylist knocked on the door. When Steffy answered the door, she came in with dresses and supplies to fix Steffy up for her date with the Prince.

“Wow, all this for one date?” Steffy asked stunned.

“Well, the Prince aims to please.”

“I'm Sheila,” the stylist introduces herself to Steffy, then gets to work making over Steffy for the big date.

When Steffy is made over, Steffy is escorted by the Prince's bodyguard to the limo where she is driven to the Prince Jordan's luxury suite for dinner.

Steffy is in awe by the grand gesture, but it still doesn't impress her. And she lets him know that when he makes his entrance after Steffy is ushered into his suite.

“So, are the accommodations to your liking?” Prince Jordan inquires.

“It's okay.” Steffy says nonchalantly.”

“Ooh, I see I need to work on my charms?” Prince Jordan smiles with a gleam in his eye.

“I'm just not that impressed by all your money and extravagance.” Steffy tells him confidently.

“Well, I just have to do more to show you how interested in you I am.” Prince Jordan says, vowing to win her over.

Prince Jordan escorts Steffy to her seat as his staff bring the appetizer course in their meal and Prince Jordan makes a toast, while Steffy vows not to be swayed by any romantic gestures Prince Jordan makes. She isn't interested in romance—not after her last relationship. She only agreed to the date because Prince Jordan insisted on it and wouldn't let up.
