Texting in the 80s: Chapter 2

Marissa and James met Cassandra at the party 🎉 at one of their classmates, Laura Thomas, she was throwing. It was an 80s party 🎉--to the chagrin of Marissa, James, and Cassandra. It was Laura's mother's idea 💡. Laura didn't tell her classmates the theme of the party 🎉 for fear 😱 they wouldn't come?!

"Laura, so glad you invited us!" Marissa exclaimed to Laura and her mother.

"I'm so glad." Laura's mother said. "Because tonight is all about the 80s!"

"The 80s?" Cassandra asked.

"Yes. Nothing is allowed that wasn't in the 80s. No cellphones. No MP3 players."

"Does my Bluetooth count?" James asked as he chatted with his friend, Mark.

"Yes, James, even your Bluetooth. So put your modern-day technology away." Laura's mother said. "Tonight is all about the 80s."

As Marissa, Cassandra, James, Laura and the other students gathered to talk about everything 80s...the kids found themselves back in the time 1985.

"Whoa! Where are we?" James asked.

"I don't know?" Cassandra said just as confused 😕 as James.

"I think we're in our town--except, it's back in the 80s?" Marissa said.

"We're back in 1985!" Laura revealed to her classmates.

"What?!" Marissa, Cassandra, and James said in unison.

"It was part of the party 🎉. We had to go back in time to when today's technology didn't exist." Laura continued.

"How do we get back?" Cassandra asked Laura.

"We have to find 80s technology to get back." Laura explained.

"What the hell is 80s technology?!" Cassandra asked. "You mean you can't text in the 80s?"

"That's what we have to discover?" Laura said.
