Smartphoney Mystery

Synopsis

After weeks of secret detective work, partners Barbara Rush and Nolan Diamond are on the verge of cracking the case.  They’ve been posing as employees at a high-profile financial firm named MoneyMakers LLC., trying to prove that the CEO, Bryan Questmore, has been ripping customers off.  After Barbara and Nolan catch Bryan accidentally in the act via their smartphone video, they have the proof to nail him.  Only problem is:  the smartphone mysteriously disappears?  Will they find the phone, or is it lost forever?

Chapter 1

Barbara Rush and Nolan Diamond were eating dinner at a posh restaurant after solving a huge case.  While eating, they heard what sounded like a riot outside the restaurant.  Nolan went out to check it out and a mob of people were throwing rocks at the financial firm, MoneyMakers, LLC, across from the restaurant. 

“Excuse me, sir?” Nolan asked, tapping a gentleman on the shoulder to get his attention.

“Yes?” the gentleman asked, turning to face Nolan.

“What is going on?”

“Rioting!” the gentleman said angrily.

“Why?”

“Bryan Questmore, the CEO, has been ripping off his customers!” the gentleman said heatedly.

“Is this true?  Any fact or just speculation?”

“Are you calling me a liar?!”

“No.  I just wonder if you have any  proof.”

“He’s guilty.  That’s all I care!” the gentleman said going back to the rioting.

Nolan headed back to the restaurant to inform Barbara what was happening. 

“There’s a riot across the street because there’s a claim that the CEO, Bryan Questmore is embezzling funds from his customers.” Nolan told his partner.

“Just a claim?  No actual proof?”

“I don’t know but those people are angry about it.” Nolan said.

“Well, why don’t we look for clues to this mystery.”

“Agreed.” Nolan told Barbara.

So Barbara and Nolan were leaving so they could work on the case just as the police commissioner, Jet Raines, stopped Nolan and Barbara to inform them on the case of Bryan Questmore embezzling from MoneyMakers, LLC.
