Chapter 1
Hecuba, the sea monster reflects on the love of her life, Albert.
“I’ll be back for you, Hecuba.” Albert promises her with a final kiss before he swims off for the merman navy.
As Hecuba watches her love go off, she silently cries tears of sadness, knowing she will have to wait 2 years for her merman!
2 years later, Albert comes back looking for Hecuba, only to find out that Russell, a manipulative merman has informed Albert that Hecuba has moved on with him. Heartbroken, Albert leaves and heads to the Mermaid Tavern to drown his sorrows. But instead he meets the beautiful Liza and is instantly smitten. On the day of the wedding of Albert and Liza, Hecuba comes back from her mission after discovering that Albert has returned, but is horrified to learn that Albert has moved on with the fair Liza, her classmate in school.
Watching the wedding from afar, Hecuba vows revenge on the prince, who would become King.
Today, King Albert and Queen Liza are a happy royal couple with 3 daughters: Tara and Taryn (their twin daughters) and the youngest, Cassie (a beautiful mermaid with the sweetest voice ever).
Hecuba, who has turned into an evil sea monster due to her jealousy, sets her sights on Cassie, as she concocts her revenge plot on King Albert and his Queen Liza.
Now, Cassie and her older twin sisters, Tara and Taryn, are in school learning how to become royal princesses who will one day succeed to the throne.
“Cassie, you will never be Queen!” Taryn tells her matter-of-factly.
“That’s right, Cassie.” Tara agrees. “Everyone knows it’s the older child who succeeds.”
“But you two are the same age? Which one of you succeeds?” Cassie asked innocently.
“Well, naturally me!” Tara explained. “Since I’m the older by 3 minutes.”
Cassie didn’t care anyway. She was way to interested in finding love from an amazing merman. She just wanted to be a wife to a merman. But for now, Cassie enjoyed playing with her friends, Simon, a dolphin, Bobby, a crab, and Lyssa, a turtle.
Cassie never seemed to make friends with other mermaids or mermans. She found it difficult to open up to other mermaids and mermans.
Chapter 2
Cassie grew into a beautiful mermaid more tempting than her older twin sisters. Cassie caught the eye of every eligible bachelor merman. But only one merman caught Cassie’s eye—Branson, a merman prince that even her older sisters were dying to get to know.
The only problem unbeknownst to Cassie and her sisters was that Branson was the son of Hecuba, the sea monster mermaid out to exact revenge on their father, Albert, for moving on.
As Cassie and Branson dated for a few years, they finally became engaged to be married—at the urging of Branson’s mother, Hecuba—who convinced her son to keep his identity a secret without revealing her past with her son.
Hecuba’s revenge was to get her son married to Cassie so he would be heir to Albert’s throne.
On the day of Cassie and Branson’s wedding, Hecuba Tara and Taryn weren’t there. They had mysteriously disappeared soon after Cassie and Branson’s engagement.
“How are my lovely guests doing?” Hecuba asked Tara and Taryn, who were locked up inside the dungeon where Hecuba brought her hostages after getting her merman goons to abduct the girls. It was her plot to make Cassie was heir to her father’s throne.
Taryn scowled at Hecuba, but Tara spit in Hecuba’s eye.
“Now is that any way to treat your generous hostess?” Hecuba said. “I’ll just have to withhold your breakfast for the nasty behavior.”
And Hecuba took their breakfast and left the girls alone in their prison, both longing to go home.
Back at King Albert’s mansion, Cassie was growing nervous as she got wedding for her wedding to Branson.
“Mother, do I have to do this?” Cassie asked, as her mother, Liza, brushed her long-flowing blonde locks.
“It’s just nerves, Cassie darling.” Liza told her. Neither wanted to admit the real reason of their sadness—Cassie’s sisters’ disappearance and not knowing what happened to them. “Just try to be happy, dear.”
King Albert waited in the vestibule of the church for his daughter to come down and join him as he walked his youngest daughter down the aisle to her prince, Prince Branson.
The wedding went off without a hitch, with Hecuba watching in the wings, waiting for the perfect opportunity to exact her revenge on King Albert and the fair Queen Liza.
Prince Branson and Princess Cassie were pronounced merman and wife—before Hecuba’s eyes.
“Watch out, Albert and Liza!” Hecuba said silently to herself as Branson walked Cassie down the aisle as his bride.
