Lost at Sea

Synopsis
Genny Meiers had her life planned out.  She was going to school to be a doctor.  But when a tragic plane wreck Genny and her fiance, Andrew Thompson, are on leaves no survivors, Genny and Andrew find themselves castaways on a deserted island.  On their own to fend for themselves, Genny and Andrew find their primitive new life a refreshing change of pace.  When they are finally found, will they welcome being home again, or long for the simple life they knew on the island?
Chapter 1
“I had a nice time Andrew.” Genny said to her fiance of two years.  “But I must really get some sleep.”
“Genny, we’ve been engaged for two years.  When will we get married?” Andrew said, losing his patience.
“I have one month of school before graduation to become a doctor.” Genny reminded him.  “Can’t it wait one more month?”
“Fine.  I’ll see you the day after your test for our weekend in Paris.” Andrew said, giving Genny a kiss on the lips before taking off and letting Genny get some sleep.
Genny got down on her knees and prayed to God:  “Please God, let me get through this month and I’ll plan the wedding.  Andrew is getting so impatient.  Just one more month.  In Jesus name, Amen.”
Genny got into bed and got some sleep.
Andrew on the other hand was out partying with his pal, Charlie Simpson.
“So, Andrew, when’s the wedding?” Charlie casually asked his pal.
“I asked Genny tonight.  She said she had to get through her final to graduate in a month.” Andrew said, downing his troubles in a pitcher of beer.
“Man, I feel for you.” Charlie said.  “Genny is more concerned with her studies than she is with a life with you?”
“You won’t say anything?” Andrew told Charlie.
“On my honor.” Charlie said raising his right hand.
“I’m thinking of calling off the engagement.” Andrew confessed to his friend.
“Oh, gee, it’s that bad?”
“I can’t take this 2-year-plus engagement.” Andrew complained.  “I want to start my life with Genny, but she wants her career first.”
“Well, bro, I’m with you, whatever you decide.”
“I’m going to tell Genny when he get back from our Paris weekend.” Andrew said.  “I don’t want to ruin her weekend.
As Genny was sleeping beautiful dreams of a wonderful life with Andrew after her graduation from med school, Andrew was stumbling up the walkway into his home.
Chapter 2
Genny was waiting for Andrew to take her to dinner when he announced the night before he had a surprise for her.
She she wondered if Andrew wanted to break up with her?  She had been spending a lot of time with her studies.  Being a doctor meant a lot to her.  She knew she was neglecting Andrew.  She couldn’t help but wonder if maybe Andrew was tired of the neglect and was finally putting an end to their 2-year engagement?
Genny’s thoughts were interrupted with a knock at her front door.  It was Andrew and he looked happy. It piqued her mind as to why he was planning this surprise for her?
“Andrew?”
“Genny, I hope you’ll enjoy the surprise I have planned for us?”
“Can’t wait to hear what you have planned!” Genny replied, not sure if she should be happy or worried.
Andrew refused to give details until they arrived at the destination.  I guess Genny would have to wait to see what Andrew had in store for the two of them.
After a twenty minute drive, Andrew escorted Genny into the building.  Genny was surprised yet confused.  It wasn’t dinner he had planned, but a themed-surprise party. The conference hall he rented was decorated in a cruise-like party.  Andrew was all smiles when he got down on bended knee to present his surprise.
“Genny, I have paid for a cruise for us to go on for a week.” Andrew revealed his surprise to an ecstatic Genny.
“A cruise?”
“We leave tomorrow.”
“Tomorrow?”
“A sort-of pre-honeymoon cruise.”
Genny just hugged her fiance.  She was glad it wasn’t a breakup.
……….
Andrew and Genny were packed and leaving for the airport for their week-long cruise.  It was going to be an exciting week.  Genny decided not to think of her career choices and focus on this time with Andrew.  It was important they have this time together.  They had been drifting apart the last couple months.
Arriving at the airport, Andrew and Genny checked in their luggage at the baggage counter and waited to board their flight.  It didn’t take long and they were soon on the plane ready to head to Florida to leave on the cruise ship for a week long cruise.
But thirty minutes into the flight, the pilot was on the PA system announcing some turbulence in the skies as he informed the passengers to buckle up for safety.  Andrew and Genny waited out the turbulence along with the rest of the passengers, hoping it would pass.
The pilot did all he could to control the plane and bring the plane to safety in the heat of the storm, but he was losing control of the plane.  The plane was going down!
The next thing Genny and Andrew knew they had woke up on some deserted island with no sign of any survivors.
