When Love Can't Wait

As soon as Rex told Cassie the good news that he was flying into meet her, she couldn't wait for his arrival. But as his arrival loomed closer, Cassie's anticipation grew more as each day passed. Cassie thought about what it would be like to see him for the first time, since they had only talked online. She knew she couldn't keep him off her mind. She thought about him morning, noon and night. She thought about him while she was at work. He was the first the first thought when she woke and the last thought before she fell asleep. Finally, the day of Rex's arrival was here and Cassie's stomach was filled with so many butterflies, she could hardly keep anything down. She had arrived at the airport an hour early, probably due to the anxiety she felt in anticipation of meeting Rex for the first time. She was in the middle of reading an article when the announcement for Rex's flight arrival came over the intercom. She worried if she looked alright for Rex's arrival. She spent hours on her appearance to look just right for Rex; she put her hair in rollers the night before, which hurt her head to sleep in. Then styled it out the next morning. She picked out just the right dress; a blue mini-dress (Rex's favorite color). She picked out some sandals that complimented the dress she would be wearing and put a barrette to accentuate the style she decided to wear. Cassie watched as passenger after passenger walked off the airport ramp to meet loved ones, while she kept looking for a man matching the photo Rex had emailed her. After about ten minutes, she thought she saw a man matching the description carrying a young boy, she was too afraid to face him, so she turned her body away from him and looked out the terminal window. For some reason, she was terrified to look at him. Suddenly, Cassie felt someone gently tap her shoulder and say, "Sweetness, I'm here." Her eyes welled up with tears as the moment she has waited for was suddenly here. Now, how could she face Rex with tears in her eyes. But Rex didn't care. He set his son down on the bench and turned her around to face him and enveloped her into a big hug and gave her a big kiss. The kiss must have lasted several minutes, because when they finally came up for air, the entire airport was clapping and cheering for the newly united couple; even Rex's son seemed to be happy for them, as he patiently sat in the chair next to them playing with some toy in his little hands. The drive back to Cassie's place was a couple hours away, so it was a quiet drive home. Cassie just couldn't believe that Rex was finally here. After about a half an hour into the drive back home, Rex asked Cassie why she was so quiet. Cassie told him that she was just savoring the moment that she so desperately wanted to arrive, that she still couldn't believe it was real. Rex told her that it was real and that he was in her life forever. He told her that she was the only woman he ever wanted; that there was no other woman for him. As soon as Cassie pulled into the driveway of her home, Rex jumped out of the car and ran around to the driver's side and opened the door like a gentleman. As soon as they had got inside the trailer, Rex suddenly couldn't get enough of Cassie. He engulfed her in a big kiss that seem to last for an eternity. It was almost as if Rex couldn't wait any longer. The two-hour drive back to Cassie's home was just too much for Rex to bear any longer. **************************************************************************************************************************************************************** That first night was a magical night for Cassie as Rex gave her the night of her life. Cassie was putty in his hands and all she wanted was to please him. The foreplay seemed to last an eternity as Rex massaged every inch of Cassie's body. She let him kiss every inch of her body and she did whatever he asked her to do, being the one who lacked experience as he was the second man she has ever been with. Cassie knew nothing of what it meant to really please a man. (Her near-16-year marriage, which ended in disaster due to a philandering husband who cheated on her numerous times and abandoned her and their son for other women, who were much younger than Cassie.) Cassie just let Rex do what he wanted to her; she was his willing lover; ready to please at his beck and call. That's all she cared about. Pleasing him and making him happy. As Rex was passionately and sweetly making love to her, she couldn't help but wonder what she ever did to deserve this gorgeous man. What could he ever see in her, a washed-up 40-something divorcee who couldn't make her marriage work. She thought that he was too gorgeous a man to settle with someone like her. Surely, there were lots of women who would die to be with him; so why did he settle for her? Rex looked down at her after the near-perfect lovemaking session and asked her what was wrong. She couldn't look him in the eye for the thoughts she was thinking just now. Ashamed, she pushed him away, got up and ran to the bathroom. As soon as she got inside the bathroom, Cassie locked the door and began crying. Rex could hear her from outside the door and went to knock lightly on the bathroom door. He pleaded with her to come out, but Cassie told him no, that she didn't want him to see her this way. Talking sweetly through the door, Rex lovingly assured Cassie that he was there for her, that all she had to do was open the door and let him comfort her. After about fifteen minutes, Cassie gave in and unlocked the bathroom door and ran to Rex's arms. Cassie told him the thoughts she had while they were sweetly making love, and Rex just kissed her ever so lovingly. Once again, she was under his magical spell, willing to do whatever he beckoned her. Rex gently guided her to the bed where they made passionate love all night long; for which, neither one of them got any sleep the whole night, and neither seemed to care. **************************************************************************************************************************************************************** By morning, both Cassie and Rex were extremely tired due to their all-night lovemaking, but they grinned-and-beared-it, as they went about their usual day-to-day duties of taking care of the family. After all, it wasn't the kids fault Cassie and Rex stayed up all night, and they both thought that their kids shouldn't suffer because of their activities. As tired as they both were, Cassie and Rex played games with their two boys (they each both have one son from previous relationships) and they had a blast doing it. Somehow, it took their minds off the fact that they were both tired. By the day's end, and they were getting ready for bed later that night after putting the boys to bed, Cassie and Rex both agreed to each other that they were very grateful for finding each other and vowed to do whatever it took to make this relationship last. Then they both fell into bed and fell asleep in each other arms and neither woke up until morning when they heard the boys up and playing video games, as they patiently waited for Cassie and Rex to awake from their slumber. The next day was a busy one for the new family of four as Rex had a surprise for Cassie, one that she was just going to love. As soon as they took a 10-minute shower together plus once again making love in the shower, something Cassie had never done before, Rex got dressed in his dress slacks and white-pressed shirt and jacket, he pulled out a new dress that he had hidden as a surprise for Cassie and brought it to her to put on. As he popped back in the bathroom, Rex presented the dress to Cassie and she cried tears of happiness as she wondered just what he had in mind for them that day. But Rex just had a sly grin on his face and refused to divulge any details of their day, even though she dying to know was going on. Rex left Cassie to get dressed for their day and make herself pretty while he went to check that the boys were getting themselves ready as well. Rex pulled up to the restaurant where he made reservations for a family of four. He lovingly took Cassie's hand and escorted her to door and like a true gentleman, opened the door to the restaurant for her. The hostess escorted the family of four to their table and took their order for drinks. Rex kept looking at Cassie all through dinner due to the surprise proposal he was going to give her after dinner. Rex's looks after dinner were making Cassie nervous as to what he might have planned. After they had all eaten, Rex got up out of his chair, got down on one knee, pulled out his ring from his pocket, and professed his love for Cassie, and asked her if she would marry him. Cassie was teary-eyed as she noticed everyone in the restaurant was watching the entire thing. With Rex still down on one knee and everyone in the restaurant still waiting for Cassie's answer and with tears of joy in her eyes, Cassie joyfully accepted his proposal and then Rex got up as Rex swept Cassie off her feet and kissed her in the middle of the restaurant with everyone who watched the proposal, clapped their hands in cheerful approval. After they were back home, Cassie couldn't help but admire the engagement ring Rex had so lovingly slipped on her finger when she accepted his romantic proposal. It was the most beautiful ring she had ever seen that she was afraid that she was going to lose it. Rings always seemed to bother her and always seemed to play with them when they were on her fingers and always seem to take them off when they bothered her. Cassie was afraid she would do that to this one and was afraid she would lose it one day if she did that to this one. This wasn't like her high school class rings. This one meant a lifetime together loving each other as they agreed to build a life together. Rex came up behind Cassie and put his strong arms around her, pulling her out of her reverie. Rex told her that she had just made him the most happiest man tonight and then he kissed her. He picked her up and carried her to the bedroom.
