Buster, The Talking Dog

I remember all too well the day Buster came into our lives. You see, Graham and Lyndsey begged for years for their father and I to get them a dog. And for years we were successful at holding off their requests, but now that I divorced their father after ten years of marriage, I could not disappoint this time. I finally broke down and got them a dog: Buster, who to my chagrin, can speak, but for some strange reason, can only talk to me. And what's more, Buster loves to gossip about the mischievous happenings of both Graham and Lyndsey. Well, one particular hot summer, August day, I was out in the yard doing some weeding my vegetable garden, when Buster came out to see me. I remember telling both Graham and Lyndsey to get their rooms cleaned up while I was out in the garden working. Well, thanks to Buster, I learned first knowledge what my precocious, nine-year-old son, Graham, was up to. Buster informed me that Graham had sneaked out of the house and went to his best friend, Timothy's, home. I was splitting mad at Graham's disobedience, that I hopped into my station wagon and drove like a bat-out-of-hell, straight to Timothy's house. What I witnessed next, would be a shock to any parent. Graham and Timothy were busy sending cruel messages online to random classmates, bullying them and making them feel bad. I went over to Timothy's laptop and closed it so they couldn't send anymore messages. Then I calmly, now mind you, I was a little bit angry, but tried to hold my temper, and asked Timothy to get his parents on the phone so I could talk to them. After I had discussed what I had just witnessed with the two boy, Timothy's mother said she was on her way home to discuss what was going on. Timothy's mother must have drove like a bat-out-of-hell too, because she was here in like ten minutes. We both talked to the boys and told them how wrong it was to bully other children and then we made them cancel out their social networking accounts permanently and took away all computer privileges for two months. In order to prevent misuse at school, we informed their school to have Graham and Timothy closely monitored so that they wouldn't be allowed to misuse the school computers while they were in school. I only hope I have taught Graham a lesson in the dangers of online cyber-bullying other children when it comes to being online.
