Where Is the America I Grew Up In?

 


Growing up in America

Wasn't easy but the hate wasn't there

Or if it was I didn't pay attention

Or I was blind to it

Today we have to watch what we say

For fear of offending someone else

Where is the kindness

What happened to showing love to one another

It seems we are only in it for ourselves

Racial hate

Protests because we don't like who is president

Police brutality

#BlackLivesMatter

#BlueLivesMatter

...Whatever...

What happened to All Lives Matter

And showing kindness for your fellow man

It seems that kindness has flown out the window

Or maybe. . .it never existed???
