The New Year's Resolution

Introduction Rylee Jamison is the most sought after bachelor in his hometown. All the women flock to his side dying to be the next to date him. But Rylee is tired of meeting the same old girls. Rylee wants a true love, not just some trophy wife to hang on his arm. When he is sent out of town on business by his father, he is surprised when the business associate is his high school sweetheart, Kandace “Kandee” Sommers, who is about to be married. As the two spend the last few days of 2016 working on business, the two remember their love. Will the sparks be rekindled, or will their love die? Chapter 1 Rylee Jamison, the most sought after bachelor in Hollow’s Eve, but Rylee vows to change all that. The only problem is Rylee has dated all the women in Hollow’s Eve, his hometown. As Rylee contemplates his problem, his father, Grant Jamison, CEO of the most successful business in Hollow’s Eve, Jamison Publishing, has called Rylee into his office for a pow-wow! “Just what I need?” Rylee whispers to himself, as he heads to his father’s office for the meeting. “I’m here, dad!” Rylee says when he enters his father’s office. “Thanks for coming son.” Grant says to his son. “What’s this meeting about?” Rylee says perplexed. “Son, it’s not a meeting. I am sending you Chicago to meet with a new business associate to work on a new campaign.” “Okay, when do I leave?” “In 30 minutes. I called the airport and the corporate jet is ready when you get there.” Grant informed his son. “So soon?” “This new business associate is vital to the company.” Grant told Rylee. “Okay. I’m leaving yesterday.” “Thanks son.” As Rylee heads to his penthouse suite to pick up his bag that he has packed at a moment’s notice—his father has a habit of sending Rylee on spur-of-the-moment-business-trips—and then heads for the airport to board the corporate jet for Chicago. “Hey, Rylee, we’ll be leaving as soon as you buckle up.” Buck the family’s pilot says to Rylee. “Doing it right now, Buck.” Just as Buck said, they taxi down the runway and lift off for Chicago, a 4-hour flight. When they are in the air, Rylee unbuckles his seat belt and takes out his briefcase to review the folder his father gives him before he meets the business associate. Meanwhile, in Chicago, Kandee Sommers is rushing to get things done before her meeting with the business associate from Jamison Publishing. “Hey babe.” Kandee’s fiance, James, says as he kisses her on the lips. “Not now honey. I have to get ready for my business meeting with Jamison Publishing in like 3 hours. “Aw babe, can’t we just have some lunch?” James says irritated. “I promise, dinner tonight.” Kandee tells him. “Okay. But I’m holding you on that promise.” James says, as he heads for his own job at his father’s coffee warehouse, but is really a front for mob business, to which Kandee does not know about. Rylee’s flight has landed in Chicago, where he retrieves his bag and hails a cab for the address his father gave him. “2460 Lake Shore Dr.” Rylee tells the cab driver as he climbs inside the cab that has pulled up to the airport. 15 minutes later, the cab driver arrives at Rylee’s destination. Rylee hops out of the cab as soon as the cab comes to a full stop and walks up the front stairs to door and knocks. “Kandee?” Rylee says, shocked when his high school sweetheart answers the door.
