Let It Snow: A Christmas Romance

Introduction Lacey Hart was having a blue Christmas. Her boyfriend of two years just broke off their engagement for another woman. Just when Lacey thought her life was over, a high school crush re-emerges in her life. Will sparks fly when Lacey is invited to a weekend getaway at her bestie’s family's cabin for Christmas? Chapter 1 “I don't know what I am going to do?” Lacey Hart commiserates with her bestie, Millie Hawkins. “Chris Wilkins is such a deucebag!” Millie laments. “I can't believe he was seeing that two-timing wench, Jessica Steinberg!” “Well, he can have the rich bitch!” Lacey complains. “Hey, why don't you spend the holidays at my house?” Millie says, trying to cheer up her bestie. “Thanks, Millie, but I don't want to impose. I'll be okay. Really.” “Well, if you change your mind. You're welcome at my house.” “Thanks. You're such a great friend.” “Well, I guess we better get our law class.” Millie says. It was the weekend before Christmas break and Lacey wasn't looking forward to it. That is until she walks into her law class and is met with her high school crush: Storm Michaels. When Lacey saw him sitting in one of the desks waiting for class, she felt her knees buckle underneath her. She couldn't believe that after all this time, he still made her swoon. Just as she was about to fall, Storm looks over at Lacey and runs over to her before she falls to the floor. “Are you alright?” Storm asks. “Do I know you?” Lacey asks, pretending not to know who he is. “I'm Storm Michaels.” Storm introduces himself, as he helps her up. “Did you attend Jefferson High?” Lacey asked. “Yes. Yes, I did.” “That's where I know you from.” “You went there too?” Storm asks. “Yes. I had the hugest crush on you. But you didn't seem to notice me.” “Are you Lacey Hart?” “Yes, I am.” “I remember you.” “You do? “Yes, I wanted to ask you out, but you were steady with Chris Wilkins.” “You wanted to ask me out?” Lacey asked in disbelief. “Are you still with Chris?” “No. He ended our engagement when he was caught cheating on me.” “I'm so sorry.” “Well, have a seat next to me. It looks like class is beginning.” Storm says, when the instructor starts writing on the blackboard. Lacey couldn't believe her luck. Storm Michaels in her law class. The guy she had a crush in high school. She couldn't believe he wanted to ask her out. If she wasn't with that jerk Chris Wilkins, they could have had a thing back in high school. Chapter 2 Her college was on Christmas break and Lacey intended to make the most of it at Millie’s family vacation. Millie had asked Lacey to cheer her up after her boyfriend ended their engagement after he was caught cheating on her with town floozy, Jessica Steinberg. Lacey was glad to see Chris go. She secretly hoped for a romance with Storm Michaels, whom she had just reintroduced to on the last day of law class before Christmas break. But it would have to wait until Lacey got back from spending the break with Millie at her family’s cabin. “I just pulled up in your driveway.” Millie text Lacey, who was waiting for her friend to pick her up so so they could head up to the cabin. “I’m on my way out.” Lacey text back. Lacey was beaming with excitement when she came outside and got inside Millie’s Jeep Wrangler. “Why are you so happy?” Millie asked her friend. “You’ll never guess who was in my law class on the last day of school before break?” Lacey said, barely able to contain her excitement. “Well, you better spit it out before you die from too much excitement.” Millie told her. “Storm Michaels.” “No way!” Millie said in disbelief. It seemed Storm Michaels had slid off the planet after they graduated from high school. Stories circulated that he had gotten married. Some said he was killed in a horrific car crash. No one really knew what happened to Storm Michaels. “Yes. I asked him where he had been the last year, but he was vague in his explanation.” “Really? I’ve wondered what happened to him.” Millie remembered having one date with Storm Michaels, that ended in disaster. Everything that went wrong did. All Millie wanted to do was end the night with Storm Michaels. They had no chemistry whatsoever. “Did you know I had the biggest crush on Storm Michaels?” Lacey asked her friend. “Who didn’t?” Millie asked, as she continued reflecting on her own crush and disaster date. “Yeah, I every girl in high school did.” Lacey lamented. “And I was going steady with a two-timing jerk!” “Hey, don’t think about Chris Wilkins.” Millie told her bestie. “This holiday will be a Chris-free zone!” Millie and Lacey rode in silence for the rest of the trip, as Lacey put her seat down and fell asleep in the passenger’s seat. 2 hours later, Millie pulled up into the snow-laden driveway of her family’s cabin and woke Lacey up to tell her they had arrived at the cabin. Lacey got out of the passenger’s side door and grabbed her luggage from the backseat. Then the two girls headed inside the cabin where Millie’s sister was waiting for them with the biggest shock of all: Storm Michaels was at Millie’s family cabin!
