A Light at the End of the Tunnel

Chapter 1 Reid was so tired of his job and the hassle of having to go to work day after day. He resented having to live paycheck to paycheck; but he resented even more, having to miss his wife, Tara, and their children, Jared, 10; MIcah, 7; and little Brianna, 4. It seemed as if he was missing more of their lives more and more everyday. His job at Cramer Industries was becoming more demanding and Victor Cramer was the boss from hell. He desperately wanted something more for him and his family, but he felt life had dealt him this lot in life, and he was afraid he would just have to settle for what came his way and learn to live this non-exixtent life. He felt he would never be able to fully support Tara and his three children. Although miserable, Reid accepted this part of his life. Then, one beautiful summer day in late June, Reid had just checked his mail, for the usual bills, when he suddenly noticed a strange letter in his mailbox. It was a letter from an attorney, Brando...

A New Day in Mike and Lily's Affair

Mike and Lily were bored with their sex life and were looking for something different. They were tired of the usual five-minute quickie that they had gotten used to. But neither one had any suggestions on how to spice things up. So, one day as Lily was at the office, she was talking with one of her co-workers, Kate, about her boring sex life. Well, Kate knew just how to get Lily out of her rut with her husband, as she had just went the same thing with her husband, Rick. Kate gave Lily the name of the sex therapist she went to that helped her and Rick with their little problem. So, after work, Lily went home to Mike and suggested the idea to him. He thought it was a good idea. Three days later, they had an appointment with the sex therapist to discuss their problem in the bedroom. The sex therapist told them that they had to explore new avenues into their love life or they would get bored with each other. The sex therapist suggested role play where they pretend to be other p...

Buster, The Talking Dog

I remember all too well the day Buster came into our lives. You see, Graham and Lyndsey begged for years for their father and I to get them a dog. And for years we were successful at holding off their requests, but now that I divorced their father after ten years of marriage, I could not disappoint this time. I finally broke down and got them a dog: Buster, who to my chagrin, can speak, but for some strange reason, can only talk to me. And what's more, Buster loves to gossip about the mischievous happenings of both Graham and Lyndsey. Well, one particular hot summer, August day, I was out in the yard doing some weeding my vegetable garden, when Buster came out to see me. I remember telling both Graham and Lyndsey to get their rooms cleaned up while I was out in the garden working. Well, thanks to Buster, I learned first knowledge what my precocious, nine-year-old son, Graham, was up to. Buster informed me that Graham had sneaked out of the house and went to his best friend, Timoth...

The Christmas Miracle

It was Christmas morning and Brad was the first one up, excited to open gifts. He ran out to the living room and was amazed to find so many presents under the tree. But he didn’t expect to see Santa still in the house filling stockings. “Santa, what are you still doing here?” Brad asked Santa. “My dear boy, what are you doing up? You should be in bed sleeping. You’re parents and brother Aaron are still nestled in their beds. “I couldn’t sleep. I was excited for Christmas morning.” Brad told Santa. “Well, Brad, do you want to come along and help me with the other presents?” “Could I Santa?” “Well, let’s see. Maybe if we write your parents a note explaining where you are and leave it here by the stockings for them to find, it might be all right.” So Santa quickly wrote Brad’s parents a letter telling them where he was so they wouldn’t worry. Once Santa wrote the letter, Santa and Brad were well on their way. Brad couldn’t believe his eyes at the many houses that Sant...

Kara and Kelly have been friends since high school and have kept in touch since. They have been there through marriages, divorces, children, and jobs. Santa Meets Jesus

Santa was having a miserable day trying to get ready for his deliveries this Christmas Eve. He even got so mad that everything wasn’t falling into place, that he told himself he wasn’t going to make Christmas this year. He knew that all good little children would be hurt when they found no presents under the tree or surprises in their stockings, but it seemed that it couldn’t be helped. As Santa was checking his list for the second time, as he always does every year, he noticed that his sleigh had a busted rim. He was so mad he hadn’t checked it earlier. It meant that he would let down all good children who were expecting their goodies for Christmas. Santa began to cry. He just couldn’t believe that he was going to have to let down the children. Just then, a voice spoke to Santa, “Kris.” Santa’s real name was Kris Kringle. “Who is that?” Santa asked, looking around the toy shop. “It’s me, Jesus Christ.” “Jesus, who?” “Jesus Christ. The guy Christmas is really about.” “O...
