Chapter 1

Veronica “Ronnie” James was at the restaurant with her bestie, Sylvie Anderson to celebrate graduating from college and landing their dream jobs.

“I can't believe we've graduated from college and landed our dream jobs!” Ronnie exclaimed as Sylvie toasted to their success.

“It's been a wild ride!” Sylvie added.

But it would be an even wilder ride when the Sylvie notices a gentleman across the diner watches Ronnie.

“Ronnie, I think you have an admirer?” Sylvie remarks as she glances in the hunky gentleman's direction, giving the guy the notion to approach the women.

Ronnie notices the guy heading to their table, “OMG! He's headed over here?” Ronnie says nervously. “What should I do?”

“Relax and be yourself.” Sylvie advises.

“You're right. It's not like he's some criminal?”

“Ladies, may I buy you two a drink?” James inquires.

“That would be great!” Sylvie replies, smiling.

“Sir?” James says as he gets the server's attention. “Could you bring the ladies another round of whatever they're drinking? And I'll have another too.”

While waiting for their drinks, James introduces himself to the Ronnie and Sylvie as he takes a seat next to Ronnie, “I'm James, but you can call me Jamie.”

“Ronnie.” Ronnie replies, introducing herself, “and this is my BFF, Sylvie.”

Sylvie nods as the server brings their drinks to their table.

Sylvie gets a text from her brother with bad news, “I'm sorry, Ronnie but I need to go. Family emergency.”

As Sylvie heads out of the diner, Ronnie calls after her, “Text me with details later!”

Jamie is left alone with Ronnie as the two get to know each other better. After an hour at the diner, Ronnie tells Jamie she needs to get home as she has to be at the office early. After exchanging numbers, Ronnie pays her tab and heads out to her car to go home.

As she starts the ignition, there's a text on her phone. Before leaving the parking lot, she checks it to find it's from Jamie, “Can't wait to text you tomorrow! <3
