What?! No Internet?!

1.   Write a story about the day everyone woke up and the Internet no longer existed. What would the world do if suddenly the Internet was gone?! Leeza James, a paralegal, was just logging onto her work computer to do some research on a case that her supervising attorney was working on, when she discovered there was no Internet. Thinking that the Internet was out for a few moments, Leeza started work on checking appointments until the Internet came back. Mr. Janzen, Leeza’s supervising attorney stepped out of his office, “Ms. James, have you done the drafts for the Collier case?” “Sorry Mr. Janzen, the Internet was down so I was working on calling on appointments until the Internet came back.” “Well, has it come back?” Mr. Janzen asked.   “Because I really need those drafts!” “I’ll check on it, Mr. Janzen.” Leeza checked her computer’s Wi-Fi status and found it still hadn’t come back, ‘I’m sorry, but it’s still down.” A man entered the o...

Friday Night Date Night

1.   Write a flash fiction story about a first date on a Friday night. It was the end of the school week and Jim Labor couldn’t wait for his date that night.   He had worked up the nerve to ask Sally Weaver on a date for weeks.   He was scared she would turn him down due to his geeky appearance.    Sally was every guy’s dream date:   long blonde tresses; high school cheerleader and in the pep club; she was famous for dating jocks.   So why would Sally want to go out with him?! But when Jim finally mustered the courage to ask Sally out, he was shocked when she said yes. The date was on for tonight, and although Jim was nervous as heck, he tried not to show it while at school. By now, class had ended for the day and Jim headed for his beat-up Pinto in the school parking lot.   It paled in comparison to the brand-new cars the other students were driving.    Jim drove home to have his after-school snack his mother...

Good vs. Evil

Write a story based on the theme of:   good vs. evil. She didn’t know what to believe anymore?!   It seemed that evil always won!! After her disappointment in watching the evening news, Tarah Jenkins decided to take her Sheltie, Misfit, for walk.   She needed some time to reflect on the state of the city she had always loved. As she and Misfit walked, there were homeless people foraging in garbage cans looking for their next meal.   “How sad that nothing could be done for these people?” Tarah thought to herself. But as she continued walking, Tarah noticed someone’s wallet lying in the gutter.   As she opened it up to find who the owner was so she could return it, there was a at least $10,000 in it—and the weird things was—there was no ID so Tarah could give it to the proper person. Tarah decided she needed to take it straight to the police station so they could find its owner.    But after the allotted time, no one came by t...
