Writing Prompt: Trust Me, It's NOT You!!!!!

Writing Prompt:  Excuses--"It's not you, it's me."

My boyfriend and I were going through some difficult times.  But only because I couldn’t find it in my heart to tell him the truth!
Yea, I know it’s bad!  You should be able to tell your guy—or girl—the truth about your feelings!
But Derry, doesn’t listen to me!!!!!
That’s when I met Jackson.  Jackson’s been great!  He listens to me and my problems.  Even when it sounds like I’m being a drama queen.
Drama queen?  Why do people use that expression?  Like whenever you have issues, people can deem you a “drama queen?”  Doesn’t everybody have issues they’re dealing with?  Or am I delusional?
I just find it weird that everyone can talk about their issues on Facebook or Twitter, or even post photos of their happiness on Instagram, and wah-lah…instant comments and likes!
But me…I post one problem…and total ignorance…no likes or comments…well, except nasty remarks from some fat bitch who sits on her ass threatening me by sending some make-believe road-trip goons my way!  As if?!
And who makes these idle threats anyway?!  Like, does it make you big and bad because you can throw a threat out!!!!!
Well, anyway, back to my friendship with Jackson…did I happen to mention that’s he’s great!
Yea, I know.  I’m romanticizing the guy.  I’m falling for this guy?
Actually, yes!  I’ve fallen in love with Jackson.  But I’m still committed to Derry.  Even though we’ve drifted apart.
I don’t know how to tell Derry that I have no feelings for him, despite still having a commitment to him.
Things between me and Jackson and I are like a fairytale.  He’s my “knight-in-shining-armor.”  I feel like I’m in some soap opera, stuck in a loveless relationship, while having eyes for another man.
I don’t want to hurt Derry by telling him I’m in love with another man.  But I know in the end, he will be hurt.  And lying to him will hurt him even more.
So I come to the conclusion that I have to be honest with Derry…for both our sakes.  Jackson is the one I want!
